Hello are you going to Rollercon? Reblog / like / message me or Curqus Freak! We’re organizing a Rollercon Tumblr meetup. Don’t get left out!
Comic book cover featuring my wife’s roller derby alias, Cassandra Pain. The 11x17 print was her gift this Christmas.
Never getting over the amazing classes I took at NEDC. Definitely going back next year!
Demanda Riot’s class was great for timing hits and working on form. (Also she gave me “extra credit” for doing the drills with both colored shirts and black shirts, due to uneven numbers. Lol)
Suzy Hotrod’s class was pretty crowded, but focused on building muscle memory for stops.
Quadzilla’s class was small and awesome - instead of drills, he had us doing pack play and power jam strategy.Smarty Pants was all around amazing. She set us up with a good mental foundation before working us on skating skills.
Dee Stortion and Wes Turn tore up my feet with their toe stop drills, but damn if I’m not totally besotted with them anyway. Made me drastically rethink my form, both at starts and when I fall behind.
Carmen Getsome was an absolute sweetheart, pushing us to examine how we set up our walls and how we think through our blocking. I think her voice was starting to go — it was the last class of three days, so I’m not surprised!!There were also some great seminar classes, awesome vendors, and great camaraderie in the classes. I really want to scrimmage against NOVA now! Plus the all star bout was mind-blowing, and the black and white scrimmage was fantastic. Lots of cheering for the underdog, cheering for people you were in class with, no booing. All in all it was a FABULOUS weekend, and I highly recommend everyone go to a derby convention at least once.
Can we judge the book by the cover?
NOT!
The most simple covers, will always bring the biggets event ever!
THIS IS ROLLER DERBY BABY!
